First I am not impressed with Windows 7. I found three large problems.
One) Is there any fix for the Hardware Reserved Memory problem? I have an Intel DG43NB motherboard with max 4GB RAM installed and Windows 7 only uses 2GB. I have checked the Bios and all 4GB (2GB each) installed. There is no REMAP in this BIOS. I have updated the BIOS. I have installed all the Windows 7 updates and even for the video card. I have removed the GeForce 9800 GT video card and the RAM only increased to 2.9GB why so much reserved above that. I should have minimum 3GB usable. I have also checked the msconfig and made sure the Maximum Memory and the CPU’s where not checked. I have installed one memory card at a time and each show 2GB RAM. I have increased the Virtual Memory hoping that would help for not. Any word if Windows 7 SP1 will fix this.
Two) Windows 7 Backup is so SLOW. I have a Seagate 1.5TB external backup drive and the scheduled backup (not the first)ran 1.75 days and I stopped it with 26% complete. My Windows XP took that long the first time but was very quick after that using the Seagate provide backup software for another 1.5TB external drive. The Web shows many others with this problem.
Three) Windows 7 working with Internet Explorer version 8.00.7600.16385 it has many lockups and then program shut downs/restarts. Any know fix for this?
