Virtuous Ten Studio for Windows, takes Android Theming to the next level

Today I’m going to talk about an extraordinary application called “Virtuous Ten Studio”. It’s the ultimate solution for the modification of Android applications. Those who own an HTC phone powered by Android might know about this application.  Virtuous Ten Studio can be used on your Windows computer to edit almost all apk files (Extension for android application), jar files, system frameworks, smali files etc.

Virtuous Ten Studio has seamless integration of popular Android tools like:

  • ApkTool
  • Smali/Baksmali
  • ADB
  • Zipalign
  • Sign
  • dex2jar
  • WinMerge
  • Remote Theme Injector (RTI)

What makes Virtuous Ten Studio more special is the ability to decompile M10 files. For those who don’t know about M10 files, HTC uses M10 files to secure and encrypt it’s HTC Sense images and XML makes it impossible to theme.  Android phones are well known for its openness. So the developers at  Virtuous built this great toolkit called M10 tool which gives us the ability to decrypt those files. We can theme it and compile it back to M10 and install it.

Now with this Virtuous Ten Studio you can decompile M10 files easily in just a few clicks. Also its much advanced smali editor, Smali/Baksmali is an assembler/disassembler for the dex format used by dalvik, Android’s Java VM implementation. The syntax is loosely based on Jasmin’s/dedexer’s syntax, and supports the full functionality of the dex format.
