How to manually Track A Package in Cortana on Windows Phone

Every time I use Cortana on my Windows Phone, I discover new features that the app houses. The digital assistant is not only helpful to carry out simple web searches, but its functionality in real extend much beyond simple web searches. Cortana can be used for package tracking. With just a few simple steps, you can set up Cortana and allow it to keep you updated about the delivery status of your package. Here’s how you can get it working.

Track A Package in Cortana

In most cases, you can track your package via the delivery company’s website. However, if you experience problems in finding so you can make use of your smartphone. If you remember the tracking number, copy it and paste it into the search box. Cortana will return with some information pertaining to your search. At this point, select ‘Track your Package’ option.

Next time you open Cortana it will seek your permission to track the package. Answer Yes. There is also a direct way, which Microsoft recommends:

Open Cortana application on your Windows Phone 10.

Go to Notebook and scroll down to find/locate Select Packages option.

When found, select + Add a Package

Paste in the tracking number (Ctrl + V). Now that you have enabled package tracking or manually inserted a number Cortana will ensure that it keeps you updated on the product’s delivery status.

Now, when you try opening Cortana on the PC or Phone you will see a new card. The Cortana card provides the information related to the following,

  1. Estimated delivery date
  2. Current status (Processed, In Transit, Delivered)
  3. Delivery Address
  4. Package number

That’s it! It is important to mention here that Cortana currently supports only popular international couriers, so do not be surprised if you do not notice some local couriers listed under the service. It is likely, that other courier services will be included in the near future. Try it today! this is one of the useful features if you frequently shop online.
