At International CES 2011, Microsoft’s Liz Sloan from the Windows Phone team, in her keynote, demonstrated the top 7 features of Windows Phone 7.
Here are the top 7 features of Windows Phone 7:
1. Phone Camera: Many time it happens that we see something interesting and by the time we reach to our phone and access the camera, we miss the moment completely. With Windows Phone 7, we can catch that moment. In every Windows Phone 7 there is a dedicated key for camera. The best part is we can get access to the camera directly even if the phone is in locked state by pressing the dedicated key. The picture can be shared instantly with friends and family or can be uploaded directly to Facebook and other image hosting sites all within seconds.
2. Glance and Go: In windows Phone 7, all the information is right on the top which gets updated continuously. This can be seen on the lock screen which displays time, day, date and our next calendar appointment, missed calls, emails and text messages. This feature is also done with start screen. The start screen of Windows Phone 7 is completely different from anything in the market today as it’s not a list of icons. Windows Phone 7 has live tiles. Just like the name suggest, these tiles are live and they change. So if our friends update their status or post new pictures, those updates can be seen directly from live tiles itself. Many other information like weather updates, calendar which shows next appointment, alarm status etc.
3. Voice Search: With the help of voice search, we can search anything for eg. nearby location. If we search for some restaurant, it find outs our exact location and searches the results with reviews and nearby locations.
4. Bing and Dedicated Search button: In every windows phone 7, there is a dedicated search button which gives access to Bing search that provides very efficient results from web. If we search for some statistic updates like scores, Bing would provide score results directly on the top instead of providing many blue links.
5. Hubs: Normally in other phones there is no specific management of games, apps or social services. In WP7 there is a feature called Hubs. With the help of hubs all your information related to apps, games are organized at one place.
6. Fantastic Apps: There are over 5500 Apps presently available in the market place providing you access to all your favorite services from one place.
7. Xbox Live on the phone: Using Xbox Live, we can get access to multiple number of games and play them online with our Xbox Live friends. The games are categorized in different categories, you can choose according to your interest areas. It allows you to extend your gaming experience across your phone, computer, and Xbox console. Play games on your own, or with friends in turn-based multiplayer gaming. All popular Game Studios released there popular games for Windows Phone 7, now you can enjoy them with any problem.
