In this tutorial, I will be telling you the easiest and best way to create your very own website or a WordPress blog.
First, you can buy a domain for yourself at GoDaddy.com or any other provider. However, if you are new to this, I would suggest you to register a free domain at : http://www.co.cc/
At this website, you can register a domain for yourself absolutely FREE .
Next, follow these steps:
- Register a domain at the above mentioned website.
- Register at FreeHostia so that you can host your website. While registering, make sure you select the CHOCOLATE plan as it is Free. Also, select the “Use my existing domain” option, while registering. Enter your domain name in the blank field.
- The next part is to change the name-servers of your newly registered domain. You do this from your co.cc account. There is an option called Change names-servers.
- Set this option to:
- dns1.freehostia.com and
- dns2.freehostia.com
Once this is done, you should login to your FreeHostia account and Click on > Web Tools> Elegant Free Scripts .
Now you select the type of Script you want to install; i.e. whether you want Joomla, Drupal, WordPress or a Forum board.
There are many free scripts available. You install your script at the root itself so that when someone enters your URL in the address bar, they will directly be able to see your website.
