Run multiple instances of applications from the Windows taskbar

If you ever felt the need to Run multiple instances of applications from the Windows 7 / 8 taskbar, this post is sure to answer your question. Click on the pinned taskbar icon and you have the application running.

Click on it again and you have the same instance appear again. So what do you do if you want to run, multiple instances of any program, like say Internet Explorer or Notepad?

You have 2 options if you want to run multiple instances of applications:

1. Right click on the icon and click on the program name again. In this case Notepad.

2. Press Shift key and click on the icon.

You can thus run multiple instances of programs form the Windows 7 taskbar, even when a first instance of that program is running.
