Kludgets, widgets, gadgets, applets or screenlets are shiny little applications that decorate the desktop. More just than eye-candy on the screen, they provide an enhanced user experience.

Serving information such as news and weather, monitoring email, facebook or twitter updates, are just some of the functionalities than can change the way we experience the internet on our desktop.

The Kludget Engine’s inspiration is the MacOS’s Dashboard widgets and is compatible in terms of technology and format. But the Kludgets Engine brings some of better features from Yahoo’s Widget Engine, Microsoft Gadget, and Google Desktop, and Opera Widgets.
