Programs which Windows 7 Service Pack 1 may break

After you install Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 or for Windows Server 2008 R2, or after you install programs on a computer that is already running Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, some programs may not function as expected.

This because, Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 contain security, reliability, and feature updates for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2. Certain programs may experience a loss of functionality after you install SP1 for Windows 7 or for Windows Server 2008 R2.

However, most programs continue to work as expected.

KB2492938 lists the programs that have been reported to experience a loss of functionality when they are installed on a computer that is running Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

  • IncrediMail Xe
  • Lenovo System Update
