Some basic features are an essential for a good Image editor. PC Image Editor comes with all the basic editing, adjustment and improvement features like:

  • Brightness Adjustment
  • Contrast Adjustment
  • Saturation/Gamma/Hue Adjustment
  • Lightness Adjustment
  • RGB Color Adjustment
  • Auto Contrast
  • Auto Levels
  • Invert and etc.

Talking about the filters available in the software, most of the popular and widely used filters are included. Some of the filters are Sharpen, Zoom Blur, Motion Blur, Gaussian Blur, Noise, Diffuse, Mosaic, Maximal, Halftone and Emboss.

The most interesting part I found in this software was the ‘Effects’ part. Under Effects, you can rotate, reproduce, twirl or Skew your image. You might have noticed that all other popular image editor allows you to rotate images at 90 or 180 degrees but PC Image Editor allows you to rotate images at any angle of your choice.

You can reproduce the image as many times you want by copy-pasting it. With the options like Skew and Perspective, you can make the image look somewhat like a 3-D figure. You can bend it either ways, using the Skew and Perspective VH controls.

The interface is very easy to operate. All the options are slider driven, so that you can have accurate images. The sliders are also very easy to operate. When you move any slider, a small preview window shows you the miniature of how the image is going to look, after you release the slider.

You can directly print or scan the images from the software itself. Needless to mention, other basic features like undo, redo, resize, flip are available and easily accessible.

The program is 100% free for non-commercial and home users but for commercial purposes, the company may charge you a nominal amount for the license.

    I prefer Paint.NET

Sounds good for simple adjustments but I still prefer Photoscape as one of the most comprehensive, feature-rich photo manager/editor and it’s free as well.

And to be honest, I’ve missed Microsoft Office Picture Manager so bad, no matter how many photo editing programs I try.
