NiftySplit Chrome Extension automates the process of splitting the Viewing Pane

While working, it sometimes becomes essential to have 2 windows opened simultaneously, aligned next to each other. It often proves helpful when you are doing a comparison of something. Although you can switch tabs or re-size them to fit on the screen side-by-side automating the whole process makes a lot more sense as it helps in saving both, time and efforts. Here’s where you can try NiftySplit Chrome extension.

NiftySplit Chrome Extension

The lightweight extension splits the viewing pane into two separate panels for side-by-side browsing. All a user has to do is visit the Chrome Web Store, search for the extension and add it to the browser. When you add the extension to the Chrome browser, a new tab opens in the browser giving some quick notes on using this extension.

At the same time, a new entry to Chrome’s context menu is added – Open as NiftySplit window’. Now, all you have to follow is this simple step – click the Split Screen icon in the navigation bar, and you’re presented with a dual-pane browse.

In the left pane you can find the ‘Settings’ link too. The link directs you to a page where you can adjust/modify the extension’s behavior as per your requirements and convenience. For instance, you can adjust the split window size, control how links open and more.

Thereafter, any link you left-click in the left-hand page is loaded into the right-hand page. You can even use Ctrl+click or middle-click to open pages in new tabs in the left-hand window.

For stopping the extension, simply close one of the two windows and your NiftySplit session would end.
