Microsoft Office 2010 has reached the release-to-manufacturing (RTM) milestone. RTM is the final engineering milestone of a product release.
In fact, Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010 and Project 2010 – all have all hit RTM status. This means that Office 2010 is now ready to be burned to disc, delivered to PC makers and made available for download.
Office 2010 will be rolled out in phases. Volume license customers with Software Assurance will be able to download them in English from the Volume Licensing Service Center starting April 27, and volume customers without Software Assurance will be able to get them from Microsoft partners starting May 1.
Office 2010 will be available off the retail shelf in the U.S. in June 2010. It will be available for download on MSDN & Technet on April 22, 2010.
There are 3 editions of Office 2010 listed at the online store:
- Office Professional, at US$499.99
- Office Home and Business, which does not include the Publisher and Access programs, at $279.99
- Office Home and Student, which excludes Publisher, Access and Outlook at $149.99.
