Microsoft to discontinue Microsoft Reader

Microsoft has announced that its Microsoft Reader will no longer be available for download wef from 30th August 2012.

Microsoft Reader is a free, downloadable software application that allows you to read eBooks on Windows-based devices.

New content for purchase from retailers in the .lit format will be discontinued wef 8th November 2011, however users will be able to continue using the eReader and read and access the .lit materials on their PCs or devices even after support is discontinued.

    Its a bad idea. They must promote it when the s/w goes down. And discontinuing is wrong decision. Most people don’t know about this. When the tablet PC’s and ipad and other pads are in demand, this s/w will surely be useful and may be a hit. MS should give a new version and online ads of the s/w so that it may be good as win7.
