Microsoft Australia: You wouldn’t drink 9 year old milk; so why use IE6?

Microsoft Australia has launched a new upgrade-from-IE6 website urging users to upgrade their web browser from Internet Explorer 6 to the current latest Internet Explorer 8.

“You wouldn’t drink 9 year old milk … So why use a 9-year-old web browser?”

It also highlights the fact that a recent study by NSS Labs, Internet Explorer 8 caught socially engineered malware 85% of the time compared to Firefox 3’s 29%, Safari 4’s 29% and Chrome’s 17%1.

There is also a page where you can enter your friend’s details and Microsoft will ‘send them some spoilt nine-year-old milk’ to show them the benefits of using an up-to-date product.

Check it out at Microsoft Australia.
