KeepVid allows you to grab and download videos from Google Video, YouTube, Metcafe, etc.

All the user is required to do, is paste the URL of the YouTube video/page in the space provided on the website, and click the ‘Download’ button to permit KeepVid to search and download the video.

The website then offers both, low quality and high quality video download. It also displays links to download the video in MP4, 3GP or FLV format. Windows Media Player does not support FLV file format. It is therefore recommended to use VLC player to play the files with FLV format on Windows computer.

Apart from all this, KeepVid also offers a more convenient bookmarklet option that you can drag up to your bookmarks bar. To use it, simply click the ‘Keep It!’ button while streaming a video to navigate the current page straight to the KeepVid download page for that video.

The Automated Web Safety Testing results carried out by McAfee Site advisor for the KeepVid suggest that the site is safe and has no significant problems.

So if you want to download videos from the Internet every once in a while, head over to KeepVid.

CLARIFICATION BY ADMIN: This post is meant to show occasional video downloaders how to download videos from the Internet using the box provided on the site. If you download videos regularly, you can install these free software like YouTube Downloader, Meep IE Addon or Vixy Freecorder.

The post is talking about the website which allows you to download videos by pasting the link. Great if you only occasionally download videos and dont want to install a software. We are not talking about their shareware. :)
