Some of you may be aware of a new feature ‘Related Photos‘ which Facebook has been testing. With this feature, Facebook will now start showing other photos of people who are face-tagged in a photo next to it.

Now an Indian startup Lifeblob has accused Facebook of copying this feature from their website!
” Just to set the record straight, we have had this feature on lifeblob.com for over a year now. Every time you upload a photo on Lifeblob, a recommendation engine not only looks at the face tags, but also the other information associated with your photo to show you photos that are closely related around it.”
…With the changes in patenting law, it is hard for companies like ours to get pure software patents anymore. And even if we did have a patent on this, a start-up like ours would still not have the wherewithal to drag Facebook to the court of law for infringing on our intellectual property.”
Lifeblob has even set up a page on…Facebook, in order to spread the word!
Well, Lifeblob may or may not get anything out of this, in the end; but one thing is for sure, there are going to be a lot of folks, checking out Lifeblob.com !
What do you think!? Does Lifeblob have a valid point?
