Imagine Cup 2010: White House and NYC ‘like’ this

Imagine Cup is the world’s premier student technology competition, sponsored by Microsoft. This annual competition inspires students to create innovative solutions that can help solve some of the world’s toughest problems. In addition, it gives universities, colleges, and secondary schools the opportunity to gain international acclaim as technology leaders.

The awesomeness of the popular academia event, and hyped as Bill Gates’s one of the favorite initiatives, has just been testified by the President of United States and Mayor Bloomberg of NYC.

They all recognized Imagine Cup in some capacity over the last week. Two of last year’s Imagine Cup winners, Christian Hood and Wilson To, joined President Obama at the kickoff of the first White House Science Fair.

Also, New York City hosting this year’s Imagine Cup Worldwide Finals was part of a major announcement along with Steve Ballmer around a multi-year partnership to deliver cloud-based services to the City of New York.
