Two Windows Phones, one with gigantic 4.3inch screen and Dolby surround sound, and another with curved glass ClearBlack screen. Yes folks, I am talking about the HTC HD7S and the Nokia Lumia 800. Both phones are top quality devices.
It’s quite a deal to judge which one is better to own, so I have tried to compare both the phones. Let’s find out which stands where in comparison.
Hardware comparison of HTC HD7S and Nokia Lumia 800
In the hardware section, let us first talk about the CPU and RAM. The HTC HD7S has a 1GHz processor which is backed by a 576 MB RAM. The Nokia Lumia 800 on the other hand has a 1.4 GHz Processor which is well complimented by a 512 MB RAM. With a little stronger processor, the Lumia 800 scores over the HTC HD 7S.
Now the storage capacity of the phones, the HTC HD7S has an onboard storage capacity of 16GB and the Lumia 800 offers the same. Both are on the are pedestal in this section.
Display section has grown to be one of the most important things in the smartphones today. HTC HD7S offers you a humongous 4.3inch WVGA screen which is an LCD touch, the screen resolution is 480x800p. That is not all, it also offers you Dolby surround sound to enhance your viewing. On the other hand the Lumia offers you a relatively smaller screen of 3.7 inch AMOLED ClearBlack glass touch screen, the screen resolution is the same but due to the smaller screen size the ppi is higher. No one can be called a winner in this section. No one is a clear winner in this section; you will have to make a choice between big screen and better screen.
In the Camera segment, the HTC HD7S has a 5MP rear camera with auto focus and 720p HD recording, on the other hand the Lumia 800 has an 8MP rear camera with Carl Zeiss Optics , Geo tagging, Dual LED flash and 720p HD video recording. None of the phones has a front camera to boast of. I do not think that you have any doubt in your mind that which is the better phone in the section.
Talking about the Battery of the smartphones the HTC HD7S has a rechargeable 1230mAh li-ion battery which gives you a talk time of 4h 30m whereas the Lumia 800 has a 1450mAh Li-ion Battery which gives you a talk time of 13 hours. Lumia again is the victor.
They both have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
As we all know that both are Windows Phones but HTC and Nokia have preloaded their phones with special apps to attract users.
The HTC HD7S comes with Windows Phone 7 which is upgradable to Windows Phone 7.5 Mango whereas the Lumia 800 comes with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. HTC HD7 is a phone for the entertainment lovers, it has unlimited music with Zune Pass - it offers games from casual to extreme with Xbox LIVE, you can stream movies with Netflix. The Nokia Lumia 800 has Active Sync Nokia music, Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive apps pre-installed in it.
After comparing the Nokia Lumia 800 and HTC HD7S, there remains no doubt in my mind that the Lumia 800 is a far superior phone than the HD7S. So I would give my sincere recommendation to buy Nokia Lumia 800.
