How to Remove Internet Explorer from Windows 7

It is possible for you to remove Internet Explorer from Windows 7.

It is for the first time that Microsoft has allowed users to uninstall IE, without breaking any other functions of the operating system which depend on it.

Many applications like Messenger, Windows Media Player, MS Office, etc which depend on it, will continue to run properly.

Uninstalling Internet Explorer will not remove the  shared rendering engine components, but only the IE executables, settings & shortcuts will be removed.

To uninstall Internet Explorer 8 on your Windows 7 computer:

Open Control Panel > Programs & features > Turn Windows features on or off > Opt to remove Internet Explorer > OK > Reboot.

Users who prefer to use alternate browsers may find this tip to be of interest.
