How to remove ads from Windows Live Messenger.

If you dont like ads appearing at the bottom of your Windows Live Messenger and you’d like to remove them  you can do so easily!

a) You could modify the Hosts file.

The Hosts file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names and is situated at C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc.

Open this Hosts file and add the following entry to it.

127.0.0.1 rad.msn.com

Hostsman is a good utility to Manage & Edit your Hosts file easily.

b) Alternatively, launch Internet Explorer > Click Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Restricted Sites > Click Sites.

Now type http://rad.msn.com in the text field.

Click Add > Close > OK.

Exit IE.

c) You may also want to use any of these 3rd party apps with which you can block the ads : A-Patch, Messenger Plus! or Live Messenger Advert Remover.
