How to get Vista style taskbar buttons in Windows 7.

If you do not like Windows 7 style of taskbar and taskbar buttons, you can easily customize it, to make it look like the Vista taskbar.

To do so:

Right click on the taskbar > Properties > Check Small Icons > Also under Taskbar Buttons setting > Select Combine when taskbar is full > Apply > OK.

Alternatively, you can also open regedit and navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

In the RHS pane right click on TaskbarGlomLevel and Edit ist DWORD (32-bit) its value to ‘1‘.

Used in combination with this tip, will make your Windows 7 taskbar emulate Windows Vista taskbar, by and large.
