Microsoft recently released Windows 7 SP1 for general users (Windows 7 SP1 RTM Build 7601.17514.101119-1850). You can either install this service pack from Microsoft Windows Update or download its offline installer from Microsoft Download Center.
Microsoft said that the easiest way to update Windows 7 SP1 is to upgrade it through Windows Update. The new SP1 release doesn’t bring any new noticeable consumer features to the existing operating system, but it’s embedded with some key enhancements and bug repairs.
If for some reason you are not willing or unable to obtain upgrade to SP1 from the Internet, then you can request Microsoft to ship a free Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 DVD. Users from Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America can obtain free Windows 7 SP1 DVD.
Although the SP1 DVD is free, you need to pay the freight charges; $5 minimum. In addition, each user can only obtain 3 copies of SP1 DVD. Mind you, this DVD contains only SP1 and not the integrated Windows 7.
