Fix: Windows 7 Startup takes long time on UEFI or Intel Nehalem-EX CPU

If the startup takes a long time on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer that has an Intel Nehalem-EX CPU installed or on a UEFI-based computer computer, then these hotfixes may be able to help you!

If you have a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, and the Windows computer has an Intel CPU installed and the CPU is code-named Nehalem-EX and has four or more sockets and if in this scenario, it takes a long time to start the Windows computer, then download and apply hotfix from KB983460.

If you have a Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI)-based computer that has Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 installed, Windows takes about 13 seconds longer than usual to start, then download and apply hotfix from KB983461.
