Fix: Windows 7 or Vista laptop does not resume from sleep correctly

February 7th, 2010 . Filed under: Downloads. Tags: ,

If you have a portable computer that runs Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2008, and lets say you put it to sleep,  while the computer’s lid is open.

Now you close the lid while the computer is asleep.

Later on, you open the lid to wake up the computer.

The computer starts resuming, but you only see a blank screen and a mouse pointer, until you provide some user input, like for instance you press a key or click the mouse.

If you face this situation frequently, then this hotfix may be able to resolve this issue.
