Fix: Internet Explorer shortcut does not open specified url

If you find that on clicking an Internet Explorer url shortcut, IE oes not open the required page, then this article may interest you.

You create a shortcut (.lnk file) for Windows Internet Explorer in the Favorites folder. This shortcut opens a specified URL in a new Internet Explorer window.

However, this shortcut does not work correctly when you click the shortcut under the Favorites menu on the menu bar in Windows Explorer.

In this situation, your homepage is displayed in the new Internet Explorer window instead of the specified URL.

In such a case you may need to download and apply Fix 319299 to your Windows 7.
