If you find that Windows Explorer, Microsoft Office applications or Windows Movie Maker crashes frequently in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2, then this article may interest you.
This problem could arise due to a known issue in the Ole32.dll file. When certain applications implement the IEnumFORMATETC interface but do not implement the IEnumFORMATETC::Next() function correctly, Ole32.dll adds a malformed data structure to the system clipboard.
No when another process queries the Clipboard later, the processes may receive this malformed data structure. Therefore, heap corruption occurs in this process.
To fix this issue, Microsoft has released Fix369974 which you can download and apply from KB2541119.
