Fix: Duplicated data entries appear in the Performance Logs and Alerts in Windows 7

If you see that duplicated data entries are present in the Performance log, when you use the Performance Logs and Alerts service, to collect performance data in Windows Server 2008, in Windows Vista, in Windows 7, or in Windows Server 2008 R2, then this HotFix will address the issue.

This issue occurs because there is a time difference between the two methods that are used to calculate a new time after data collection occurs. Additionally, the counter data of one item is invalid.

The time difference between the methods is a very short time. However, the Performance Logs and Alerts service incorrectly triggers data collection because of this small time difference.

If you are facing this problem, head over to KB22268318 and apply the appropriate hotfix from Microsoft.
