Fix: Download Windows Search to improve history & favorites results

Whenever you type anything in your Internet Explorer 8 address bar, you get the following message: “Download Windows Search to improve history and favorites results“, then you can do the following to stop this prompt!

This usually happens if Windows Search is not installed or enabled.

To fix this issue, you either download the Fix It solution to  fix the problem automatically or you can fix it yourself manually.

If you use Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, or Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Search is already installed on your computer. You may have to however enable it.

To do so, Click Start > Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off.

Scroll down and select the Windows Search check box, and then click OK.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows XP, Download & install Windows Search.
