With just a few days left to the Internet Explorer 9 goes Beta, it was just a matter of time before some of biggies decided to make some announcement. Earlier, Google discontinued support for Internet Explorer 6 and now as we hear that Facebook has just officially posted on their blog about their decision to discontine support of Facebook chat for those who are still using IE 6.

“We know you want Chat to be hassle-free and uninterrupted. In the coming weeks, we will be making important improvements in the way connections are established and messages are sent, so that Chat will be much more stable for you and your friends.”
“The biggest improvements come from changes that aren’t supported on older web browsers. After evaluating the alternatives, we’ve decided to make rapid improvements and provide the best Chat experience possible, which means we will no longer support Internet Explorer 6 browsers,” said Rodrigo Schmidt, Facebook software engineer on the Chat team.
Facebook Chat support for IE6 will end on September 15th,which is coincidentally the launch date for the Internet Explorer 9 first beta.
So those who still are using the older Internet Explorer, that is the IE6, should upgrade to the latest version of the IE browser by the stated date for continuing chatting on Facebook.
