Microsoft has released a new Urdu Language Interface Pack, for Microsoft Office 2010. The Urdu Language Interface Pack can be downloaded for free and installed on top of an existing Office 2010 installation. The LIP also includes a spell checker.
The terminology and UI string translations for this languages will become available for search and download on the Microsoft Language Portal in February 2010.

Based on the Hindi, Urdu vocabulary developed under Persian, Arabic and Turkic influence over the course of almost 900 years. There are 70 million self-identified native speakers of Urdu, with around 55 million residing in India.
