Microsoft has released a new plug-in for WordPress Bloggers called the Bing 404 Plugin for WordPress.
The plugin uses Bing Search to improve your default Error 404 – Not Found pages in your WordPress blog, by identifying keywords from the missing URL string and then using the Bing API to search your blog for those keywords.
Bing404 plugin for WordPress is a great new plugin that returns a page of intelligent search results in place of the unhelpful WordPress 404 error page by using keywords extracted from the dead URL that otherwise would have resulted in a dreaded “Page Not Found” error. The plugin is part of the Bing Search Library for PHP project.
Using the Bing Search library, this plugin will intercept your standard 404 page and return a list of urls that may help your user find the content they are looking for.
You can limit the search to just the content on your site, set a default search in case the computed one doesn’t return any results, and set a host of other options, all designed to provide your users with quality recommendations
