A-Patch lets you customize the visual appearance of your Windows Live Messenger.

A version for Windows Live Messenger 9 has also just been released. This small install-free freeware version for WLM 9 has the following options:

Patch Messenger

1. Remove advertisement
2. Remove Nudge delay & shake
3. Remove featured content
4. Accept more than 3 files transfers
5  Shorten Status info
6. Allow multiple instances of WLM
7. Remove Whats Hot
etc.
