For customers planning to purchase a copy of current Office version – Office 2010 there’s a good news. Microsoft has announced an Office Pre-launch Offer! According to the offer, customer planning to buy a retail copy of Office 2010 will get a free copy of Office 2013.
Office 2013 Upgrade Offer
The offer has commenced from Oct. 19. It ends on April 30,2013! To get the upgrade, any customer who has purchased and activated a qualifying Office product during the eligibility period will be requested to provide proof of purchase, and a valid product key. They will also be requested to sign up for an email reminder so that they receive notifications continuously and do not miss on upgrade, when it is launched officially.
The pre-launch offer has been rolled out because although Office team announced the new version, provided a preview of it and named prices, it has not actually announced the release date. So, Microsoft has yet to say specifically when Office 2013 will be made available to the general masses. Most expect Office 2013, and the Office 365 plans that rely on it, will start shipping in late January or early February 2013.
Considering the fact that the retail version of Office 2013 will be way more expensive than the former counterparts and that the Office 2010 copies will be provided at much discount rates at retailers such as Amazon, Office buyers should find ‘Microsoft Pre-launch’ offer as a good deal.
The same offer is also applicable to PC buyers who have purchased a new PC ( October 19, 2012– April 30,2013) with Office 2010 pre-installed. Existing Office 2010 users won’t be able to avail this offer.
Do note that the next version of Office you are eligible for, is based on the Office product you purchased and activated. To get more details about upgrade terms, visit office.microsoft.com.
