Bing ready to launch its url shortening service: binged.it ?

Is Microsoft Bing search engine getting ready to launch its url shortening service soon?

Currently, binged.it is available to the Microsoft employees & its internal network. In fact some Microsoft employees had already started using binged.it for their blog posts & tweets. For instance http://binged.it/4Hi4Ha takes you to http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34830557/ns/travel-news/.

The url shortener binged.it is being developed in association with bit.ly, and clicking on binged.it, took one to bit.ly, till a few days back.

However now binged.it re-directs to bing.com, thereby raising the possibility that Microsoft might be getting ready to launch the url shortener service very soon!

One can’t but notice that binged.it is longer than bing.com and in fact something like bi.ng would probably have made much more sense!
