IE basher compares Internet Explorer to a toilet, in Guess the web browser game

Speed Up My PC

Internet Explorer bashing has always excited many and it is has been a source of amusement for all, including the IE users. Here is another such by Reddit user betterpc. You have to check out the images and guess which images depicts which browser.

It is not very difficult to guess what that user wants to say, so there are no prizes being offered for guessing correctly.

The Opera blog seems to be pretty tickled about this discussion going on at Reddit. So much so that it decided to high-light it on its own official blog.

But as one commenter Mustafa O?UZ put it:

We all people use the toilet, many can see Fox and Chrome, some of them even go on Safari but very few people go to the Opera.

Its amazing to see how a once-acquired-bad-reputation can continue to destroy a company’s product, even thougth its latest avatar is vastly superior. As I keep repeating, IE continues to suffer from an image problem.  All the problems being attributed to it belong to the IE6 era and are no longer applicable to IE9. Yet IE9 carries the baggage.

IE 7/8 is often the old permitted browser in work situations. When people are used to it in a work situation, why try something different on their personal devices?

A new web browser .. new branding ? as we discussed on Open Day … that might be the solution for MSFT now…

IE is still not as convenient as Chrome or Firefox. When I want an add on or extension for some task I can usually find it for Chrome or FF. IE is just too inconvenient for everyday use.

And no matter the alleged security “superiority” IE is still not as secure as Chrome using any competent antivirus and dns service. IE uses their “built in” scanner but so what? It’s still not better than my set up (Chrome w/ js disabled, Norton DNS and Avast av) which is faster and far more responsive than IE.
