Download Administrative Templates for Windows 8.1 Update

Microsoft has now made available for download Administrative Templates .admx files for Windows 8.1 Update and  Windows Server 2012 R2 Update. Administrative Templates are files with the .admx extension used by Group Policy in Windows. They are basically registry-based policy settings that appear in the Local Group Policy Editor, under Administrative Templates in the Computer and User Configuration nodes.

IT and System Administrators use Group Policy to manage the system, using Administrative template files to populate group policy settings in the user interface.This allows administrators to manage registry-based policy settings on their Windows systems.

This download includes the Administrative templates released for Windows Server 2012 R2 Update, in several languages. To download the .msi file that contains the .admx files, visit Microsoft Download Center and click on the download button and click Save File. Once you have downloaded it, run the .msi installer to install the Administrative Templates on your Windows system.

It requires user rights to run the Group Policy Management Editor (gpme.msc) or the Group Policy Object Editor (gpedit.msc).

Supported Operating System: Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 Essentials, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2.
